BoLD Breckenridge

This family-owned and operated gem was first founded in 2017 by David and Marina Knell. By the ambiance, you could call BoLD a rustic eatery, but don’t let the eye fool you. BoLD is unique because of its twist on breakfast and brunch American classics in a clever way your taste buds have probably never experienced. Some of our finger-licking favorites include Moroccan Baked Eggs, Breakfast Pot Pie, and Berries Brandy Buttercream French Toast. BoLD gets bonus points for keeping up with the times, offering gluten-free waffles, french toast, and pancakes.

Columbine Cafe

Their website doesn’t tell you much, and the entrance is hidden from Main Street in downtown Breckenridge; both perfectly represent this hidden gem. When you step into Columbine Cafe, you can’t help but feel like you are in a mountain town. Log beams outline the ceiling, old pictures of bears and buffalo hang from the walls, and a large seating area at the bar invites a bloody mary. There is nothing fancy about the breakfast options, but simple is better at Columbine. Let your taste buds go wild with our favorites: Trout & Eggs, Corned Beef Hash, and Philly Cheesesteak Omelet. Eating at Columbine makes you want to wear your favorite flannel and Carhart pants every day… maybe you should!

Cool River Coffee House

Talented baristas, an assortment of gluten-free and vegan options, and mouthwatering comfort food are staples at Cool River Coffee House. This is our top pick for a one-stop-shop breakfast and lunch eatery located on Breckenridge’s Main Street. We love that Diane Burris, local owner since 2016, can be found helping behind the counter or cleaning up trays from the patio. Speaking of the patio, it’s lined with propane and infrared heaters so you can sip your morning Joe in the fresh mountain air. With an in-house baker, Cool River is the best place in Breck to scarf down a homemade cherry turnover or raspberry croissant. They also have a quick online ordering system if you want to grab a bite and head straight to the mountain without waiting in line. Don’t leave Breckenridge without stopping by Cool River Coffee House and saying hello to Diane and her team!

Inxpot

Centrally located in Keystone on River Run Road, Inxpox provides a chic twist on a modern-day coffee shop. Just check out their Instagram Page, where you’ll find colorful libations and decadent coffees poured into various intriguing glasses. What we love about Inxpot is there is no wifi, so if the locals aren’t coming for the free internet, they must love everything else about this full-service coffee joint. Serving breakfast and lunch, we recommend trying the Montezuma Veggie Burrito, Hearty Avocado Toast, Tuna Salad Croissant, and the Sizzlin’ Turkey Pesto. The baristas delicately craft cappuccinos, lattes, and espressos, but don’t skip their selection of delicious loose-leaf teas. Open from 7 am to 3 pm daily, once you try Inxpox, you might not want to get your coffee anywhere else in Summit county.

The Crepe Stand

No website, no seating, no problem! What the Crepe Stand lacks in ambiance makes up for in yumminess. Located in River Run Village, the line at the Crepe Stand can get long, but it’s worth the wait. There is something here for the whole family with an eclectic menu of sweet, savory, and breakfast crepes. Served in a convenient cardboard box, you can carry your crepe around town without worrying about making a mess on your ski or hiking attire. A bit thicker than European crepes, these little slices of heaven are mouthwatering and will leave you wanting to order a second. Several recommended classics include the First Chair Crepe, Coconut Banana Chocolate, and Turkey Brie Pesto. FYI, the Crepe Stand does not serve coffee, but it’s conveniently located in River Run Village, next to plenty of great coffee options.
